Ken Allsup as he recovers from a heart attack.

Hi, my name is Kathy Rothfus-Stroup and I have been lucky enough to know Ken Allsup and his wife, Ginger, for several years. If you are from the Oskaloosa area you are probably familiar with Ken and his hard work. Ken is a journalist, photographer, volunteer, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many.

Just a few days ago, Ken suffered a severe heart attack and was rushed via Mahaska Health to Mercy Hospital in DesMoines. There, they discovered he had TWO arteries that were each 100 percent blocked. He received surgery immediately and is currently in the ICU recovering.

All who know Ken are incredibly thankful that he seems to be doing well at this time. However, we understand that this has caused worry and hardship for the family. They will have very high medical bills. In addition, the family's income will suffer. Ken and Ginger are pretty much the only ones at their business, Osky News. This means they will be feeling financial burdens from many places.

Ken has given so much to the community, this is a great opportunity to give back. Anything you can give is very much appreciated.
