Ken & Michelle CRPS Fund
Michelle Donicht is my mother; she is a beautiful mother of two and a fur momma to 3. She has two perfect grandchildren. Michelle’s life has always been about making others smile, laugh and to bring joy. My mom built a truly inspiring career developing others, leading teams and making a difference. At the young age of 50 my mom has undergone severe hardship and extensive pain for almost two years. Someone of so much light, happiness, life, motivation and spunk should not have to go through what she has.
Two years ago, while enjoying our annual family get together, she jumped into the sandy bottom lake with us kids. When she popped out of the water, the world stopped. She said “I broke my ankle”. We got her out of the water and to the hospital. The doctor told her she would be fine again in 6 weeks. During her surgery her foot was not set back at 90 degrees as it should have been. Since then, my mom has undergone multiple surgeries and seen dozens of doctors. She has not been able to work for two years and my dad having to have a flexible work schedule. Needless to say their income has been compromised. She is still not able to walk, run, dance, run errands or operate her life normally.
She has developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) because of all of this. She still cannot walk without pain, she still cannot work, she still cannot do one task without being exhausted. This disease has taken her life away from her and caused hundreds of doctor trips including clinical trials and more. This is a life long disease and has affected my family drastically.
Michelle and Ken (my father) have always given everything for everyone else. They don’t deserve this hardship, struggle and pain day in and day out. I am finally writing this in hopes to give them some help in return for all they’ve given to their friends, family and community before this disease took over their lives.
