Ken and Meghan Nowicki Family

Hi, my name is Angie Blackmar and I'm raising funds (along with our families) for my brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Meghan Nowicki, and their two sweet boys (ages 11 and 13).
This summer, they received life-altering news that Meghan is fighting Stage-4 Bile Duct Cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma). This is a very rare and aggressive cancer that, unfortunately, is most often found in a late stage because there are few symptoms until it has progressed.
Thankfully, there are emerging treatments that can help in this fight and the first step is to begin chemotherapy on Sept. 8, 2022.
As you can imagine, there are already unexpected financial costs surfacing. They rely heavily on Meghan's income and health insurance and Ken works part-time as a teaching assistant in order to provide after school care for their sons. Understandably, Meghan won't be able to maintain her full-time schedule throughout the duration of treatment and Ken will need to continue to be available for her and the boys.
There are genetic tests that can help with targeted treatments that require high out-of-pocket costs. Additionally, other expenses, such as travel, cleaning and comfort-related needs that will give her the best care.
I'm starting this campaign on their behalf because so many families and friends have asked how they can help in practical ways. Our hope is that the funds raised will help carry the financial burden and alleviate stress so they can focus on the physical fight ahead.
While Ken and Meghan are humbled and grateful for the outpouring of love and support, they are asking for privacy while they wrap their minds around this diagnosis and navigate this difficult time. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me or our families with questions and, if you prefer to give to them directly, we can provide information as well.
Finally, thank you SO much for joining us as we lock arms to support them to battle this cancer. We are so grateful and will keep this page as up to date as possible.
