Let's Help Ken Cover Cancer Treatment Expenses

Hi, my name is Jane, and Ken Vanderhooft is my uncle. This fundraiser is an SOS to the community that knows and loves Ken and Christina, to provide support in this extraordinary time of need.

As some of your know, my uncle Ken has been on a health journey for a while. Around a year and a half ago, he noticed a lump on his thigh, later diagnosed as a malignant spindle cell sarcoma (cancer). The tumour was removed, and he was deemed cancer free after radiation therapy.

Unfortunately, his follow-up appointment this summer showed that the cancer is back in both lungs. This week he started chemotherapy.

This diagnosis and treatment mean huge changes for himself and his partner, Tina. He cannot work, and with Tina taking care of him and their medical appointments, funds are extremely limited.

Ken has out-of-pocket treatment expenses, as their insurance covers only a portion. As well they have rent, food, and transportation expenses. Basic living, nothing fancy. Yet needed. They are strong people, but even strong people need a community.

And this is their time to need that community.

We are inviting everyone who knows Ken and Tina to support them in this time of need with a donation of whatever you can. Every little bit counts. It will help them in a very practical way and remind them that they are not alone. And they need to know that right now.
