Ken Candelaria Memorial Fund
Don protégé
Ken Candelaria, beloved husband, father, and friend, unexpectedly fell ill on February 10 and passed away on February 23. While his death is a shock to us all, we know he is in a better place in the hands of God, surrounded by angels, listening to his favorite Hawaiian music.
This fund is raised in order to help cover the costs of medical expenses as well as to provide short and long term support for Ken’s wife Wendy and their daughters Olivia (18) and Catherine (16). They also have two rescue pups, Brownie and Bear. Ken and Wendy were married for 19 years. Olivia and Catherine are in high school and getting ready to embark on their next adventures in college.

Ken was the primary source of income for his family. Our goal of $50,000 is set in order to help cover upcoming college costs, mortgage payments, and medical and funeral expenses. We would love to raise even more in order to allow Wendy and the girls the ability to process this significant and sudden change to their family. All donations will go directly to Ken’s wife Wendy. Any amount, however large or small, will be of great comfort, and, we hope, a blessing to you as much as it will be for this family.

Ken grew up in Santa Clara the third of six children. As an avid swimmer, surfer, and water polo player, these sports would be the source of his many life-long friends. Santa Clara Swim Club, playing water polo at Cal, and later at The Olympic Club in San Francisco were all organizations blessed to have Kenny be a member.
Ken enjoyed a four-decade long successful career in commercial real estate. His larger-than-life personality enabled Kenny to connect with just about anyone.

Ken meant the world to all who knew him. We loved his big smile, his loud, boisterous laugh, and the facial expressions to go along with them. It didn’t matter where you ran into him…a pool, work, grocery store, or a phone call…your day was instantly brighter having Ken in it. We will all miss him dearly….
