Ken Jones & family fundraiser

Dear Friends,

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts following the recent passing of Michelle Griffiths-Jones. After a long battle with ill health. Michelle leaves behind her loving husband and soul mate, Ken Jones and their five children, Connor (Son) and four daughters, Holly, Katie, Jamie and Beth.

As we come together to mourn this huge loss, we also recognise that in addition to the emotional toll, there are practical challenges that lie ahead for the family.

There is where we, as a community can make a difference. This Go Fund Me page is designed to rally support for Ken and his family. The goal is to provide a financial safety net that will assist in alleviating the immediate strain of funeral costs, household expenses and raising a family of five on his own, thus giving him some breathing room to help navigate this very difficult time.

In addition to being the primary caregiver to the family, Ken has the unique challenges that arise from some of the family having Autism spectrum disorder. Whilst not an affliction

per se, being neurodivergent means having a brain that works differently from the average or “neurotypical” person. This may be differences in social preferences, ways of learning, ways

of communicating and/or ways of perceiving the environment.

To add to the ever-increasing list of challenges he has to face there are also family members who are Type 1 Diabetic. This means the body does not produce the insulin required to break down the sugars in the food we eat to create the energy we require to live. This requires them to test their blood regularly to monitor their blood sugar levels and either take insulin if too high or treat it with some sugary food if too low. They also need to find the number of carbohydrates in each meal calculate the correct amount of insulin needed and inject this after every meal and also one more injection of a night. So in addition to the day-to-day running of the family and caregiving, Ken is also faced with some challenges that many families do not in terms of his provision of care.

By contributing to this campaign, you will not only help Ken with the immediate costs of living but also to provide a sense of security during this period of profound grief. Every donation, no matter the amount, will make a tangible impact on their lives.

Ken has given years of selfless and loyal love and care to his family and despite all of his family commitments, somehow manages to give a huge amount of time to the Twitch community by not only being present in many people's live streams but also providing his coding expertise to deliver free tools to improve people's streaming experience. Now it's our turn to give back to Ken in his time of need, so let's come together as a community and show our support.
