Ken "Kenny" Blackwell - Burial and Final Expenses

Memorial and celebration on Ken's life will take place beginning at 2PM on his birthday of January 7th at his residence in Los Gatos.

We are saddened by the sudden passing of Ken Blackwell, a long-time resident of the bay area. Ken was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Ken leaves behind his wife, Dari and sons, Race Blackwell and Daniel Blackwell, both full time students. Ken was the best waiter anyone could ask for, sharing stories of his travels and jokes with his loyal customers. He especially enjoyed telling everyone about his time playing professional baseball and living large in Florida (including “THE Story” about how he met and married his wife of 30 years, having known her for less than a month before their elopement).

Ken was an avid hockey fan and was very proud to be a part of the Bossy family of professional and Olympic hockey players. Ken was a devoted fan of the San Jose Sharks and San Francisco Giants. Ken was an avid runner, having competed in marathons all over the country and countless 10k races.

Ken loved his work and all of his regular customers. Ken enjoyed employment in San Jose at the Silicon Valley Capital Club and in Los Gatos at Valeriano’s Italian Restaurant, The Palms Restaurant and was one of the first employees at Forbes Mill Steakhouse on Santa Cruz Avenue.

As with many food service industry workers living paycheck to paycheck in this high-cost-of-living area, coupled with the industry shutdowns during Covid – 19, Ken did not have savings or insurance.
