Ken Stubbs Open Heart Surgery & Recovery

Hi, my name is Lisa Valone. My other half and partner in life, Ken Stubbs, recently had a heart attack and so on 1/13/24 he was admitted to Greenville Memorial Hospital/Prisma Health in Greenville, SC. After doing a heart cath, they found that Ken had a total of 7 blockages and he would need open heart surgery.

On 1/17/24 they performed open heart surgery where he had a quadruple bypass. Ken is currently in the ICU and will be in the hospital for about a week. He’ll then get discharged and start inpatient cardiac rehab, which will be approx 7-10 days.

This unexpected turn of events has taken us by surprise, and we are now faced with the challenges that come with such a critical medical procedure.

For those who know Ken, you'll agree that he is not only a great guy, but hard working and he would do anything for a friend in need. His sarcastic sense of humor will keep you laughing and he has a way of touching the lives of everyone around him. Now, it's our turn to rally around him during this difficult time.

The surgery was necessary for Ken’s health and well-being, but it comes with a considerable financial burden. As a result, he will be out of work for at least 8-10 weeks while he focuses on his recovery. During this period, the absence of his income will inevitably strain our financial situation.

Upon the suggestion of several people, I decided to launch this GoFundMe campaign to hopefully alleviate some of the financial stress and allow Ken to concentrate on healing without the added worry of mounting bills. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a significant difference in supporting his recovery journey.
