Kendall Allen Kicks Cancer's Ass!

At a time when things are scarier than ever, my amazing and hilarious cousin has been diagnosed with breast cancer. She follows in line with my mother, her mother, and their mother. Having watched those women go through this, we wanted to find some way to lighten the load. Chemo is hard enough, without worrying about going to the hospital during the threat of a pandemic. Treatment is expensive, and deductibles are high. We are hoping to raise money to help cover Kendall's deductible and help support her while she is in treatment and has to miss work. I know this is a tough time for everyone financially, but if you are able to contribute, it would be appreciated. Even if you can't, send your good wishes her way. Thanks to all and take care.
Note from Kendall:
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for the encouraging words, prayers, and positive thoughts - I can’t express how much they have meant to me, and I look back at them often to help remind me that I’m not alone. Truthfully, I don’t think I could have picked a more stressful time to have cancer. It seems like everything is 10 times scarier than it should be right now.
I received my diagnosis of bilateral Invasive Ductal Carcinoma on Friday the 13th (dun dun DUNNN!!!) of March. When I met with my surgical oncologist on March 17, she informed me that I actually have TWO different cancers. I’ll spare you the medical jargon and just put it simply: my left breast has two tumors, and they’re mean and aggressive and growing quickly; my right breast has one tumor, but it’s lazy and wants to take it’s sweet time.
As of right now, the plan is 6 rounds of chemotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy (still figuring out reconstruction, if any), then more adjuvant infusions every three weeks until April of next year. Oh and then estrogen blockers for the next five years. It’s daunting and overwhelming to say the least, but we caught it early, so that’s good news. I come from a family of breast cancer warriors, so that’s even better news, and I plan to follow in their footsteps.
