Kendra and Ryan

Dearest Friends, Family, and all the other beautiful souls reading this,

I am reaching out in hopes of helping two of the most compassionate individuals I know, my younger sister, Kendra and my brother-in-law, Ryan or ("Brody")

This is their story.

Kendra and Ryan’s love story begins in the year 2013. They meet through Kendra’s best friend and Ryan’s sister, Kelsey. Bonding over their love of the mountains and skiing, they became fast friends. Sparks flew as their love grew and by the year of 2014, they had begun their journey together as a couple. By the fall of 2015, Ryan proposed, setting their wedding date for June 25, 2016. Then as life sometimes does, it takes an unexpected turn.

In January 2016, Ryan was in a ski accident. Suffering a spinal cord injury, ultimately leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. Moving forward, they pushed on together with nothing but compassion, grace, and love for one another. Six months later, on June 25, 2016, Kendra and Ryan committed their lives and their love to each other surrounded by family and friends.

Unlike most newlyweds, these two faced a very unique situation in their first year of marriage. They both were learning how they could support each other as Ryan was navigating a new life in a wheelchair. Despite the many challenges they have both met, I have seen them move mountains. One year after Ryan’s accident, he relearned to ski through Snowbird’s Wasatch Adaptive Sports Program. To this day, they both have dedicated their time to Adaptive, passionately helping others to enjoy the mountains and skiing, regardless of the disability they face. I have witnessed both of them find purpose, peace, and strength in themselves as well as their dedication to their relationship and the lives that surround them.

Kendra and Ryan have now begun the next chapter of their lives. They are embarking on the path to parenthood. Just like the unique situation they faced in the first year of marriage, this one is no different. With Ryan’s disability and Kendra’s stage 4 endometriosis their best chance of conceiving a child is through the In vitro fertilization (IVF) process. After countless doctor visits, medications, and consultations, it is becoming increasingly aware of how overwhelming emotionally and financially this will be on them.

To help alleviate the financial burden on them, I am humbly asking you, our community for a helping hand. With your donation or support, you will have the ability to directly impact their chances of being able to conceive a child.

Thank you in advance for any support and love shown, and thank you for taking the time to read their story.

With gratitude and best wishes,

Megan
