Kenji needs surgery
Donation protected

Hi everyone,
I am trying to raise money to pay for my dog Kenji to get paw surgery. Kenji was a rescue from my old job and I have been raising him since he was only a few days old. His parents were believed to be brother and sister and were forced to mate in a backyard puppy mill. Kenji and his fellow litter mates were inbred puppies, which unsurprisingly means they can suffer from a variety of health issues. Kenji had the worst birth defect—His right paw was missing a toe and the other two toes were conjoined to each other (We call it his “lobster paw”). He has always had difficulty walking but lately he’s been avoiding any contact with that paw causing him to limp around everywhere.
I took him to the vet to check it out and after taking X-rays we could see what was wrong. Kenji developed osteoporosis of the foot. The bones in part of his middle toe are becoming brittle and slowly spreading. His middle toe also appears to be dislocated which I’m sure is causing him a lot of pain as well. If we have surgery now, he’ll only need part of his conjoined toe amputated, but if we wait, not only will the pain get more severe, but it will spread meaning he could lose the whole paw, and possibly the whole arm. I knew the day would come I just didn’t expect to be so soon, fast, and severe. The surgery alone is $1000+ then there’s the cost of medication, and possibly some physical therapy. I can’t stand to see my little boy in pain. Those of you that know me, know I am never one to ask for a hand out, but at this point we are desperate. Please share, donate, anything will help. Thank you.
