Help Ken Martin Open His Hat Store
When life takes an unfavorable turn, bouncing back basically comes down to which hat you put on. Despite all the challenges that came my way over the years I have always opted for the yellow, optimistic one which will hopefully appeal to you enough to support this campaign.
My name is Ken Martin and I have been affiliated with the headwear industry for over 20 years. I have been described as a hustler, passionate about being a successful entrepreneur and meeting his customer needs my true priority. During my career I have worked in two of the best known and most successful Hat Stores in the area and had a pleasure to serve many notables such as Dorothy Height, Paul Newman Tim Russert, Arch Campbell, Tom Brokaw, Richard Roundtree, Yusef Lateef and more.
Unfortunately, as with everything, all good things can come to an end. Over the past couple of years I have learn this important lesson first hand. Currently, I am a part of the homeless population in DC. I have suffered two heart attacks and have neurological infirmities which render me disabled. As a result, trying to obtain and sustain full-time employment which would provide sufficient income to cover the needs of me and my two children is unrealistic. Being my own taskmaster makes more sense…
I decided to use my expertise in hat business to set up a hat shop of my own.
BRIMS is a start-up business selling headwear and related accessories such as umbrellas and other rain gear, sunglasses, handbags for the family. Our primary objective is not to just sell hats; we want to sell self esteem! We believe that everyone can make a regal fashion statement wearing the appropriate crown.
My long-term goal is to establish an ongoing profit making enterprise which would provide enough finances for my family needs and help me resolve my housing situation.
In order to grow my business from occasional Popup shop to the next stage, I need to obtain licensing purchase merchandise, equipment and establish offsite storage. With your kind help I will be able to launch “Brims,” keep my family safe and secure, while continuing to contribute to the community.
Many thanks for reading up to this point. Any sum you can spare will be greatly appreciated and I would also be very glad if you shared the news about this campaign via your social media channels.
