Kenna’s Road to Wellness

Mckenna Russell is a brilliant young woman who has faithfully served others her entire adult life. At 18 she became an EMT and joyfully worked on an ambulance, even through the pandemic, and was noted for her compassionate, skilled care of her patients. She loves the Lord, her parents and 5 siblings, her dog, and the adventurous life she has built.

In September 2020, an ER doctor discovered a large mass on her brain, leading to brain surgery in October 2020.

Her surgery seemed to cure many long-term symptoms, she returned to work on the ambulance and in the ER after just a few weeks, and she has spent the last 19 months working on healing from every angle.

But, in April 2022, Mckenna hit her head and had instant concussion symptoms. Those symptoms persisted and she began having seizures.

She has had to stop driving, quit her job, and move in with friends, essentially losing her independence at 21 years old. She has dreams and plans of finishing college to be a trauma counselor, marrying her boyfriend, and starting a family. But those dreams are on hold.

Mckenna and her family are searching for treatment options that will genuinely help her brain heal. These include hyperbaric oxygen therapy treatment, which has great results for Post-concussion syndrome, and natural alternatives to seizure medications as she is incredibly sensitive to medications. She is also speaking with a clinic in Arizona with an excellent track record of helping people with Traumatic Brain Injuries. Mckenna doesn’t want to just take medications to manage her symptoms. She wants to seek healing for the base issues, something her doctors believe can happen, but even with insurance these last few years have been financially exhausting and many of these treatments fall outside insurance or come with high co-pays.

This Go Fund Me is seeking to support and help her in that way. Anything that’s given will go to these therapies that will, Lord-willing, bring Mckenna back to full strength.
