Help Kennedy Ryan During Cancer Treatment

Hello, my name is Diana Munro and I am asking for your help to support the daughter of my dear friend and colleague Pat Ryan.

Very recently, Pat contacted me asking for prayers for his daughter Kennedy Ryan who is about to turn 26. Kennedy has been diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. The actual diagnosis for Kennedy is Stage IV Burkitt non-Hodgkin lymphoma. The treatment is aggressive as well.

Kennedy has graduated from UBC with her Master’s in Political Science and is a yoga and health enthusiast. She lives out in Vancouver but has fortunately been able to travel to Calgary for her care and treatment at Tom Baker Cancer Center.

As mentioned, the treatment is going to be aggressive and intensive. Today is Day 1 of an intensive FOUR MONTH IN PATIENT chemotherapy plan. It is thought that she will continue with out patient treatment for another 6- 12 months afterwards.

When you receive a cancer diagnosis your life, and the lives of your loved ones is often put on hold. Sadly, bills and expenses for Kennedy do not. The funds raised here are to help Kennedy with as much financial assistance as possible so she can focus all her strength on getting well and that her family ( Dad Pat, Mom Sabra and brother Jett) may be able to support her during treatment.

Cancer at any age sucks! However, childhood and young adult cancer ( as in Kenndy’s case) are even worse in my own opinion. Facing the scary diagnosis, treatments and consequences before even having had much time at living.

My own son has been through a similar situation - rare and aggressive and was treated at Tom Baker. A kind man I know made a Go Fund Me account for my son. I firmly believe that was a huge contributing factor in him now being in remission. I would like Kennedy to have that same support.

I dont believe Cancer is a “ journey”. I don’t believe it’s a fight. It’s a really awful disease that you do your best to get through with good medical treatments, family and friends and in my case prayer.
