Kennenlernen nach Stammzellenspende

Die meisten von euch wissen bereits, dass ich 2021 und 2022 Stammzellen an eine krebskranke Person in den USA spenden durfte. Zum damaligen Zeitpunkt wusste ich nur, dass die Person weiblich und +- 30 Jahre alt ist.

Ich habe euch 2021, 2022 und 2023 bereits um Spenden für die DKMS (Gemeinnützige Organisation zur Bekämpfung von Blutkrebs) mittels Facebook und Instagram gebeten.

Wir konnten dabei unfassbare 995€ sammeln!

Nun gibt es Neuigkeiten!!

Der Datenschutz von 3 Jahren hatte ENDLICH ein Ende und ich konnte die Einwilligungserklärung, zur Weitergabe personenbezogener Daten, abschicken.

Am 27.11 erhielt ich Name, Wohnort und Kontaktmöglichkeiten der Patientin.

Ich suchte mittels Namen sofort auf Facebook und fand auf anhieb Renita!

Wir tauschen seit 29.11 täglich unzählige Nachrichten aus. Es fühlt sich an, als würden wir uns ein Leben lang kennen! Nicht ohne Grund sind wir genetische Zwillinge.

Renita‘s und mein größter Wunsch ist ein Kennenlernen. Eine Reise von Amerika nach Deutschland ist leider, wie sich jeder denken kann, sehr teuer…

Aus diesem Anlass bitte ich euch in diesem Jahr, um eine letzte Spende, für Renita’s Reise nach Deutschland.

Ich bin dankbar für jede einzelne Spende in den vorherigen Jahren und hoffe, dass ihr gemeinsam mit Renita und mir, diese finale Aktion begleitet.

Receiving a breast cancer diagnosis at 27 and a leukemia diagnosis at 30 was unexpected and devastating. I wouldn't be here today without Julian's selfless gift. With young children, the ongoing challenges of treatment side effects, and the rising cost of living makes traveling to Germany to thank my lifesaver in person seem impossible. 

It's difficult to ask for more help, especially after the incredible support I've received these past five years. Remission isn't an ending; it's a new chapter with ongoing challenges. Cancer has changed me, and accepting that I may need continued support is part of that journey. 

I desperately long to meet Julian in person. The desire to connect with the person who saved my life is overwhelming for both of us. It's hard to put into words the profound impact of learning about this incredible individual. They live halfway across the world and selflessly donated the bone marrow that gave me a second chance. 

The cost of traveling between the US and Germany is a significant hurdle. I dream of simply hopping on a plane, but the financial reality makes it challenging. Until you've experienced something like this, it's impossible to understand the unique bond that exists between a recipient and their donor. 

We will absolutely meet in person someday and embrace for the first time, even though our lives have been intertwined for the past four years.

I'm hoping to travel to Germany in early May to meet Julian, a date that suits us both. Unfortunately, the cost of bringing Josh along is prohibitive, so I'll be making this journey alone.
