Kenneth Sims Homegoing

Hi, my name is Veronica and I am starting this go fund me to assist with the burial services for my nephew Kenneth affectionately known as Kenny. Although there is an insurance policy in place the funeral homes are choosing not to accept insurance assignments which has left the family no option but to pay cash.

At the age of 12, Kenny was diagnosed with cancer. His cancer was a stage IVa thymoma rare in children however, his initial diagnosis was Myasthenia Gravis an autoimmune disorder.

On May 8th, at the age of 17, after a 5 year battle with cancer Kenny ascended to Heaven to be with our Lord and savior. Throughout it all his faith never wavered and his spirit remained strong until the very end. Kenny showed us all that even through the toughest earthly battles you could still be grateful and accomplish your goals.

Kenny was set to graduate high school in a few weeks. On National College Decision Day he decided that he would attend his first school of choice: University of Dominican on a Presidential scholarship in San Rafael to major in Biochemistry! As a testament to his dedication to live life to the fullest Kenneth was also accepted into Xavier University for Pre Med, UC Santa Cruz, UC Merced, Concordia University of Irvine, San Jose State!

Kenneth loved playing basketball, spending time with his friends and watching the Lakers! He was full of faith and wanted to live life to the fullest which he did everyday despite obstacles!

He was an incredible kid who in his short 17 years made a mark on this world. If you knew Kenny you know he lived life his way. Kenny will be sorely missed by not only his parents but his 4 siblings, grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and everyone who was privileged enough to know him!

Our family is forever grateful for all of the love and support that we have received in this moment and over the past 5 years.
