Kenneth W. Clement Boys Leadership Academy (KCBLA) is a unique one-of-a-kind Prekindergarten through 8th grade school in the United States of America. We are the only public school in the state that services nearly 100% African American male scholars. We have designed a school that is effective in meeting the unique social and emotional needs of our scholars. We have one of the highest safety ratings in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, according to the annual Conditions for Learning Survey.
We foster a supportive brotherhood where each scholar is encouraged and challenged daily. At KCBLA, our dedication to leadership and exposure opportunities for our scholars is strategic and empowering. We set grand expectations and strive for excellence in everything that we do. In 2023 we received the highest score (5/5 stars) on the Ohio Department of Education’s State Report Card for Closing the Achievement Gap and Continuing Progress. As a public school, we pride ourselves on working collaboratively with our families and community partners to further our academic success. We recently received the Outstanding Family and Community Engagement award from our school district.
As an extension of our efforts to expose our scholars to college, we are hosting our first ever Historically Black College University (HBCU) tour. Our tour is scheduled from Monday April 24, through Saturday, April 29, 2023. We will visit Kentucky State University, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, Tuskegee University, Xavier University of Louisiana, and Florida A & M University. The trip will include travel, hotel stay, meals, and attractions.
