Kenney Family
Donation protected
On Tuesday, May 29, 2018, John Kenney collapsed while visiting our home in Bulls Gap, Tennessee. He and his wife Toni were there with their granddaughter, Cali, to visit the puppy they are adopting from us.
While we don't know why John collapsed, what we do know is that his spine has been greatly impacted by the fall. As I write this, they are trying to get him stabilized to do surgery on his back/neck. His prognosis is currently uncertain. Not only were the paramedics called to the scene but so was a helicopter. These costs alone would be daunting, and they are only the beginning at this point.
John and Toni are an amazing Christian couple who have lovingly raised their granddaughter within their limited means. And there are two things that are incredibly important to them that they do not want to sacrifice.
1. Cali's Christian education at Towering Oaks Christian School in Greeneville, TN (approximately $3,500 a year)
2. Cali's participation as a ballerina with Central Ballet in Greeneville (approximately $1,000 a year.)
We would like to try to alleviate this burden from their shoulders as they face an uncertain and daunting immediate future by making these two payments for them. We have already been in touch with the directors of both locations.
All monies will go toward Cali's tuition. Anything raised beyond the $4,500 goal will go directly to family needs. In addition, my husband and I are personally pledging to donate the percent that gofundme takes for administration costs so that 100% of YOUR donation goes directly to the family.
I am happy to answer any other questions you have personally. Kristin Girton, Kelley Holter, and Erin Law have been incredibly helpful in helping me get this off the ground and can also answer questions for you.
In addition, no matter what you can can or cannot donate, would you please pray for this family earnestly? We will update here as we get more information. I am including Toni's first Facebook update below.
Thank you all,
John & Wendi Kitsteiner
UPDATE FROM TONI on MAY 30:
Going to try to give an update on John. at least as of now
..FIRST OF ALL, thanks with all my heart for all the prayers, phone calls and messages, sorry I couldnt get to them all. I am currently being told that his spinal cord is not severed rather he has a fractured neck with severe bruising to the spinal cord which is going to require surgery and use of a halo. That can not be done until his blood pressure is stabilized and it is determined why he took the fall from a sitting position today, heart/ vs possible stroke..it currently doesnt appear to b stroke related. heart is not 100% ruled out yet. How much function he will regain will be determined after surgery. PRAYERS PLEASE, first blood pressure stabilizes, surgeons hands are guided, he regains total use of his limbs and body and that he will once again be breathing on his own. NOW......PRAY for comfort for Cali, she has never spent the night away from us. I am trusting God completely that He will get glory from all that is going on. Please forgive me if I dont get to your calls or messages I will update as I know anything BUT WE DO NEED YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS.
