Kenny Lofecheck and his battle with Cancer

Donation protected
Hello all, my name is Mike Lofecheck. I am the son of Kenny Lofecheck. I am writing this to raise money for my father in his time of need. Not many know Kenny as myself, my wife, and his grandchildren Bryson, and Oakleigh have the amazing pleasure to know. My dad has never been one to show, tell, or ask anyone for a hand when he needs it most. Most would say Ken is a hard man to know, he has a hard exterior, sometimes he has a hard time opening up, and he keeps to himself.
With his long career as a truck driver for SWIFT transportation and Landstar he wasn't around for most things he wished he could have been.
Unfortunately the career he knew so well came to a screeching halt in the evening of April 8th, 2021 when he went into the hospital with lower abdominal pain thinking it was appendicitis and came out with the diagnosis of stage four colon cancer. This then led to surgery to remove 7 feet of his bowel.
Following this they found in an infection which they could not operate on because he was too weak from surgery.
On May 2nd they placed a drain pump to try and drain the abscess. This was unsuccessful and at this time he was still in Hamot. This led to his third surgery. On June 11th of 2021 he had surgery to attempt to remove the infection that was slowly taking away the father, friend, and grandfather we all knew and loved. He spent the next two months living in Hamot hospital. He was finally able to start his first round of chemotherapy in August of 2021 for the cancer in his colon.
On April 8th of 2022 his world came crashing down again when the person who made his days brighter, the one who finally made his heart feel whole, and the one who made him feel like coming home from those long truck rides, passed away unexpectedly. Valette was more than a girlfriend, more than a Nani and more than anyone deserved. She was home to him, a Nani to Bryson and Oakleigh and family to us all.
After her passing in April, his story continues. In May of 2022, more cancer, except this time stage one cancer in his lung. So, more surgery. 50% of his left lung was removed. Then the cancer had came back to his colon, lymph nodes, and behind his kidney in September of 2022. His doctors monitored this until January of 2023 until Kenny made the decision to complete another six more months of chemotherapy.
Every other week of treatments, sickness, struggles, fighting, waiting, hoping.
The chemotherapy did not do what we all had hoped. At this time Kenny has decided to stop chemotherapy and has started a maintenance drug to keep the cancer at bay. This decision did not come lightly; however, he decided the sickness from the chemotherapy was not how he wanted to spend the rest of his days.
During this time Kenny, has hired a lawyer to fight for social security/disability. He has since been denied three times. If you know him at all he is a VERY frugal man and has worked so hard to save every dime he can to someday rest when that time was able to come. He has exhausted almost all of his life savings waiting and hoping for a light at the end of this very dark tunnel.
If you have made it to the end of this long post please consider sharing, donating if you can or passing this along to those you may know.
All proceeds donated will go directly to Kenny to help him keep him living in his home, keep him fighting, and any medical expenses in the foreseeable future. Any little thing can help at this time. Thank you so much for anything you do for him during this time of need.
