We Love Our Kenny Wayne's Brain

Donation protected
My big brother Kenny Wayne and his family are in a position that requires some support from our community. My hope is that we can pool our financial resources to help them through this very challenging time in their lives.

Kenny is a beautiful husband, son, brother, friend and father to 3 of the most wonderful little humans I’ve ever known. His big kind heart and loving generosity has touched many people’s lives. It is his turn, in kind, to receive abundant support. I know personally, that it is a very uncomfortable position for him to be in, and that he would handle this by himself if he was able.

In October 2018, Kenny and his wife lost their health insurance unexpectedly. Unfortunately, on January 5th, 2019 Kenny had an acute and severe attack of Vertigo. For 3 days he was on the kitchen floor vomiting, and unable to sit up or walk.

He is a small business owner of a thriving Landscaping Company. As you can imagine, his work responsibilities include a lot of physical labor, driving, and focus. For the last 4 months, he has diligently tried to accommodate for his ongoing severe vertigo symptoms at work. Kenny has always worked hard at providing the primary financial support for his family.

After months of not feeling well...In April, he got devastating news that he lost one of his longest clients, which made up for 1/3 of his income. The timing of this couldn’t have been worse because of his current physical limitations. As well, he and his wife pulled the trigger on purchasing new health insurance ($700/month) so he could finally receive the medical care he needs.

May 1st, Kenny was finally able to start seeing the Doctors at USC Keck School of Medicine. He has since seen an audiologist, otolaryngologist, ophthalmologist, and primary care physician. The audiologist delivered some heartbreaking news that he has permanent moderate-severe hearing loss in both ears at the cochlear nerve. Monday 5/6/2019, Kenny spent nearly 11 hours at the hospital. The Otolaryngologist stated that due to his symptoms and unusual test results, that he would need an MRI ASAP.

In less than a week, his finances have taken a huge hit with copays, prescriptions,  his health insurance premium, and the upcoming cost share for his MRI. The MRI is critical for exposing what the root of the problems are in order to determine the appropriate treatments. The financial stress that is impacting his mind and heart is extremely draining and distracting. Let us please come together for this beautiful soul so he can keep his focus and energy on getting the right diagnosis and treatment so that he can recover, be well all around, and provide for his family.

A message directly from Kenny:
I am not looking solely for financial support.  I am also open to ideas, leads, and suggestions for new work, trades, or jobs that I can do to provide for my family in the meantime. My intention is to get well so I can get back to work. I am humbled and grateful by your prayers, energy, and emotional support. I appreciate you all beyond words.
