Kenya 2026 Calder High School Project

Following 10 successful overseas volunteering projects with both student and adult participants, I (along with 4 colleagues - Kim, Ruth, David and Andy) will be taking a group of 50 Year 11 students to Kenya during the summer of 2026.

We will be working in our partner school on two projects; helping with a building project to improve the school (helping with on-going works) and working with students and teachers on sports coaching.

All the student participants are fundraising the cost of their trip (£2400) so I am helping them out by doing the Virtual London Marathon on April 27th 2025. This is part of the Offical London Marathon My Way and I must complete 26.2 miles on April 27th. I will be travelling to Manchester by train and running the length of the Rochdale Canal back to Hebden Bridge, a total of around 29 miles.

All the money raised will go towards the cost of the project we will be working on at our partner school.
