Kenya Floods Disaster Relief
Donation protected
Recent heavy flooding in Kenya has swept away homes and taken lives and livelihoods. Over 293,000 people have been displaced by the flooding and an estimated 257 people have died. Some of Kenya’s poorest citizens, who lived in homes nearest the riverbanks, were among the hardest hit.
Many of the people in our network in Nairobi have been affected by the flooding. Kenyacof (Sucafina in Kenya) is pledging to support people who have lost their homes, possessions and farms in the flooding. We’re inviting our clients to join us in supporting Kenyans impacted by these terrible floods.
For every CHF$266 (USD$294), we are able to supply a full ‘survival’ kit to Kenyans affected by flooding.
This kit includes blankets & bedding, clothing & rainboots, hygiene supplies and food including rice, beans, maize and cooking oil. The survival kit will help those who lost their homes and livelihoods stay warm, dry and fed during these trying times.
Until 31 May, Kenyacof will match contributions up to a total of CHF$4,522 (USD$5,000) for a total contribution of CHF$9,044 (USD$10,000). Any amount you feel able to give will make a difference and will be greatly appreciated.
