Kenya Mission Trip & Study Abroad Opportunity

Dear Family & Friends,

As many of you know, I recently began my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Divine Mercy University. This coming July 2025, I have an incredible opportunity to travel to Kinangop, Kenya, for three weeks with a group of 20 graduate students to study and serve alongside a remarkable organization called Abba’s Blessings (https://abbasblessings.org).

In Kenya, issues like domestic violence, sexual trauma, and human trafficking deeply affect a majority of populations. Abba's Blessings is a non-profit organization committed to caring for abandoned and trafficked children, offering them education, spiritual guidance, and a loving environment. They also extend their support to the surrounding communities by providing fresh vegetables, clothing, and access to clean drinking water.

During our time there, our primary mission will be to share the love of Christ with everyone we meet. We will teach trauma counseling methods to regional directors and caregivers working with these children, counsel children at the orphanage, and visit nearby villages. As part of this outreach, we will also serve as a mobile clinic, offering trauma counseling to individuals impacted by HIV/AIDS and survivors of sex trafficking.

To prepare for this mission, my group is undergoing training in sexual trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and disaster mental health. This training will equip us to provide meaningful support to children, women, and families in need while bringing God’s presence into these challenging circumstances.
