HELP HUMANITARIAN FOR AFRICA SUPPORT ORPHANS
Donation protected
Hi, I'm Maryann and I'm helping my friend Ben Mayianda raise funds that are urgently needed for the continuing education of four orphans in his care. A while back, I helped Ben raise money to build a home for a widowed mother and her five boys. It was a wonderful experience to see this Kenyan family get a home of their own. Here is Ben's story in his own words:
After overcoming my own battle with addiction, I made it my business to create a positive impact in my community, quite literally through changing one life at a time. My family and I created Humanitarian for Africa and with the help of local and international community, I lead numerous projects serving the people in my community.
I am always a determined and busy man helping those in need with basic shelter, clean water, access to medicine and food, training and education, women's health and sanitary requirements, and rehabilitation. If there is a need, I set out to meet it.
Visit the Africa Humanitarian Facebook page for a peek at my amazing work:
Through the generous financial support of friends and well-wishers, I have helped build over 13 houses for orphans and widows in my community, distributed over 2000 reusable sanitary pads to school girls, helped over 3000 youths overcome drug and substance abuse, and water purification projects among other projects.
My current project is raising funds to pay tuition fees for the 4 orphans that live with me, and through well-wishers I feed and fully support their education. Two of them in grade 6 and 4 are siblings, and I picked them up after their parents perished in a tragic road accident. The other two are from different homes. Both of them lost their parents at a tender age. My greatest challenge has been raising funds for their upkeep, clothes, and paying tuition fees. Soon they are completing their primary education and can work and support on their own. I am reaching out to friends to help me clear the $500 fee balance left before they are allowed to sit for their exams by the end of this month. Any funds raised beyond that will help get them clothes and school supplies. Blessings to all of you.
How you can help in this wonderful cause:
1) share this GoFundMe account with friends, family, and your community.
2) Donate, if you can.
Please understand that the 4 orphans cannot proceed to the next grade unless they take their exams, and they cannot take their exams until their tuiton fees have been cleared.
Thank you,
Ben Mayianda
