Cambodia Kindergarten Program

We know that education is vitally important in breaking the cycle of poverty. In a country such as Cambodia, even children who are lucky enough to go to school, do not get a quality education...one that will change lives. We have witnessed this ourselves on our many trips to the impoverished country.

The vision of Kep International School (KIS) is to enhance the economic and social prosperity of the local community in Kep by providing an exceptional education to committed young citizens from all socioeconomic backgrounds.


As a result of this vision, Kep International School wishes to expand its Kindergarten program and award ten full scholarships and twelve partial scholarships to children in the Kep community for the upcoming school year starting in September.


The Kindergarten program at Kep International School is geared toward children aged three to six and teaches English listening, speaking, writing, and reading skills. In addition, the program teaches math, science, arts and crafts, music, and dance. The interactive curriculum includes elements of educational play, character building, and multicultural studies. The students also study the Khmer system of reading and writing.


Our hope is also to provide swimming lessons to all kindergarten students. These children live near the ocean and often play and bathe in large pools of water. Drowning is an avoidable problem in this area and water safety and education courses could save the lives of these young children. 


Our current fundraising goals for the Kindergarten program include funding our scholarship program, funding renovations to expand our facilities, and funding a swimming and water safety course.
