Keri Medders McGinnis's medical bills
My name is Keri McGinnis. This is my story.
I have a job I enjoy. My husband, Neal, and I are active with the Gideon International. I have taught many children through Sunday School, mission classes, Vacation Bible School, and Girl Scouts. I love to go camping, read, sew, quilt, and embroidery. I am looking forward to continuing these activities.
However, during a routine doctor's appointment, 2 cysts were discovered on my left ovary. When removed, pathology indicated that it was ovarian cancer - malignant neoplasm of the left ovary. The pathology suggests Endometriod carcinoma was indicated, and was diagnosed during another biopsy. I have cancer in my ovary and in the lining of my uterus. My dr says they are most likely concurrent, and not 2 separate cancers.
I have been to see a gynecologic oncologist in Gainesville, and am having to change to one in Atlanta because the hospital in Gainesville would not take my insurance. I will have a hysterectomy and lymph nodes taken to determine the stage of the cancer and what treatment I will need. I have insurance and disability insurance to help, but will not be paid for the first two weeks I am out of work. I will also be paying co pays and deductibles.
Money raised will help pay co pays, deductibles and other expenses for medical treatment, including travel to and from Atlanta.
Thank you so much for your help and your prayers.
