Kerry Kaye's Cancer Fight

On 21st August my brother (Dan) and I will be running the Two Tunnels Bath Marathon (https://www.bathmarathon.com/about.php) to support the fundraising cause for a very close friend, Kerry Kaye, who has been heroicly fighting stage 4 RCC (kidney cancer) for the last 2 years.

 

Kerry was just 36 when she was diagnosed in July 2020. Since then she has undergone extensive treatment, most recently Dendritic cell therapy in Germany with the support of previous fund-raising after options in the UK began to ran out. The treatment has had some remarkable results, but needs to continue to allow Kerry to continue her brave fight with the support of her husband, Ryan, and 2 children, Holly and Reece.

 

I began running in March (with a 3-mile run) so getting up to marathon distance in 5 months is a reasonable challenge, but tiny in the scheme of the challenges Kerry and her family have faced and continue to face. Dan is also fairly new to running and this is his first marathon as well, so both of us will be in unknown territory on the day!
