Kerry Rooney - Memorial and Support for Remi
Donation protected
Kerry Rooney was cruelly taken from his family and friends in the most tragic of circumstances on 16 June 2021. Those circumstances have been widely publicised and what you have read is sadly accurate. It was horrific and will leave an indelible scar in the memory of his young son Remi along with a gaping void in his life once filled by an incredible role model and loving Dad.
All of us privileged enough to know Kerry would agree; his last thoughts and wishes were for the protection and well being of his son Remi.
We are determined to assist with those wishes.
Remi is just 10 years of age and needless to say has much ahead of him to recover and flourish. Your help will support this endeavour and be an important tribute to the memory of Kerry.
Please note this gofundme is established with the full knowledge, endorsement and support of Noelene and Tim.
While Kerry will have provided for Remi, we believe those provisions should be available to Remi, intact, once he attains adulthood. It is the intervening years we are seeking to support and to ensure his guardian can, without too much financial burden, provide a loving home, an outstanding education, and enriching experiences to contribute to the development of Remi into the young man Kerry was preparing him to be.
Disbursement of Funds Raised
All funds will go to a Trust established with Remi as the Sole beneficiary and administered by Martin Hoffman and Timothy Rooney as trustees.
On behalf of Noelene and Tim we thank you for your generous support and kind words.
This gofundme is established by Martin and John Hoffman. Martin is a lifelong best mate of Rick (as he was to us... and Guru to others!) and he was a big part of our lives growing up and thereafter. We spent much time with Rick and Tim at school, first Grovely State School then Mitchie High, on the footy field or in the back yard at Bringelly St Arana Hills and then at Glenaan St Ferny Grove. Martin and Rick stood beside each other at their respective weddings, and to the end, criticised the performance of each others preferred footy teams. We will be putting our personal preferences aside this year and hoping the Sharks can do it for Rick and Remi.
Finally, if you or anyone you know is facing domestic violence, please seek the support of your family, friends and dedicated support agencies. You are not alone.
