Kerstin's Birthday – Donation for Kurza Łapka

Hi, my name is Kerstin and every year I start a fundraiser for my birthday to raise donations together with you for our lucky non-human animal friends at a sanctuary. While I am fortunate to have everything I need, our animal fellows need our support! <3

...to the amount of your choice to give a little safety to the happy fosterlings at Kurza Łapka in Poland. I chose this sanctuary for the second year in a row because I am absolutely certain that everything humanly possible is done to give rescued individuals the space, time, love, and care they deserve and to help and support them on their healing journey.

ABOUT THE SANCTUARY KURZA ŁAPKA

Kurza Łapka was founded in October 2020 by a couple of vegans and activists in Poland. During the four years of doing animal activism, including vigils at the slaughterhouses, conducting lectures and workshops, documenting the living conditions on farms and transports or street activities, they managed to save several hundred lives from a brutal death. They found all the rescued animals safe, lifelong homes, where they are spending the rest of their lives surrounded by love. For a year, the activists were looking for a suitable place to create an asylum. After a long search, we finally found the perfect place that met their expectations. In order for the asylum to start functioning, the inevitable renovation and development of the space for the asylum's inhabitants were necessary.

The place is constantly getting repaired and improved, new fences and aviaries are built, as well as a large room, which will serve as a hospital. At the moment, they mainly look after sick and disabled animals. They have started treatments with a physiotherapist for chickens who suffer from diseased joints, they build wheeled carts for sick animals that can not move independently, and they rehabilitate the individuals who are in great need of it. Taking care of these animals is exhausting work from morning to night.

Your donation helps! It helps the place to renovate, rebuild, and helps to expand the sanctuary to take in even more rescued individuals. Any given amount helps to provide for food, water, medical care, health treatment, toys, and playgrounds for the animals and to keep the whole place up and running. I greatly appreciate anything you can give! Believe me, this place of hope and love deserves it more than anything!

ABOUT ANIMAL SANCTUARIES

Vegan animal sanctuaries are undoubtedly a place of hope, love, care, devotion, and healing, but they are also a place of great pain. Rescued animals find their home and peace in vegan animal sanctuaries, where they can live a life free of oppression, exploitation, and speciesism. As wonderful as this sounds and undeniably is, we should never forget that most of them are carrying a heavy past (through humans) with them, from which they may have to recover physically and mentally for the rest of their lives.
