KESSEM FAMILY

On Friday, June 2, 2023 my sister April tragiclly and unexpectedly lost her husband and life partner Brian Kessem. April and Brian were married 16 years. Brian passed away peacefully in his sleep. He was only 54 years old. April and Brian have two boys, Cliff, 15 and Jackson, 13.

Brian was a 27 year veteteran of the Chicago Police Depatment. His death has not only impacted his family, but also his community as he will be greatly missed by both.

With all the emotional pain and stress that death brings, it also brings financial burdens. Unfortunately, Brian was not a planner and did not have a will prepared so it could be several months before his estate is settled allowing April to be able to begin preparing for the future of her and the two boys he left behind. Despite all of that, the mortgage and bills still have to be paid and food still needs to be put on the table. We are asking for assistance for April and their boys to help with those needs as they grieve the loss of a husband and father and try to learn how to adjust to their new "normal".
