Kevin and Jennifer Lowe

This is Kevin Lowe. He is 54 years old. A devoted husband to Jennifer and loving father to his twin boys Matthew and Davis. He is a supportive son to Bettie and a friend to everyone he meets. Kevin has worked in the car business throughout his entire career. He has countless friends through both his work and within his community.

Kevin and his family need your help. Last August Kevin was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. This disease is characterized by scarring of the lungs that inhibits the ability to expand and contract in order to oxygenate the body. Pulmonary Fibrosis is a progressive disease and the only cure is a lung transplant. Unfortunately, Kevin’s disease has progressed very rapidly over the past nine months. The rapid disease progression and a multitude of complicated factors have excluded Kevin from being a candidate for transplant at this time.

Last week Kevin was admitted to the ICU at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital as his doctors have tried to find the source of his rapid deterioration, remove excess fluid in his lungs and decrease the amount of supplemental oxygen support he is now requiring. Unfortunately these measures have not been successful and his treatment team is now recommending palliative (supportive) care.

Jennifer is working tirelessly as a constant support for her husband and family all while maintaining her full time job that is extremely important as their primary means of income and health insurance.
