Kevin Bater - Family Medical Relief

Hello, my name is Matthew Bater. I’ve created this GoFundMe to help support my brother Kevin Bater, his wife, Brenda, and their three children as they deal with an unexpected and devastatingly costly medical emergency. Kevin is self-employed and the sole provider for his family. All funds collected will be designated to help with medical care and offset other household expenses accrued while he heals, which could extend for several months

On October 15th Kevin had back surgery to alleviate chronic pain inflicted by bulging disks. Unfortunately, due to the surgery, he has sustained a terrible infection that has attacked his heart so severely that it punctured a hole and damaged a valve which will require open heart surgery to repair. He’s also suffering from severe back pain and numbness in his left foot and leg, making it nearly impossible to get out of bed. He will require months of physical therapy after he recovers from the major surgery, and we are hopeful that he will get the feeling back in his foot and leg.

Those who know Kevin know he is one of the good guys. I refer to him as Saint Kevin. Incredibly thoughtful and generous, he will give you the shirt off his back, and he’s always the first to come running when his friends and family are in need. As an active member at Lanier Hills Church, he volunteers his time to help strengthen and build his community. He is currently in the process of adopting a six-year-old boy and started his non-profit ranch (NHYR.org) that rescues equine and uses them to help provide mentorship and hope to children in need.

He would never ask for anything himself, which is why I’m asking. Please consider donating so that together we can help alleviate some of the stress he and his family suffer from during this difficult time. Your kindness and generosity are greatly appreciated, as are your thoughts and prayers.
