Back in December 2021, my brother, Kevin Beaulieu injured his back and was all of a sudden unable to walk, sit or laydown or get dressed by himself due to horrible pain. For the next few months, he lost all muscles in his left leg. It turned out that he had crushed his L4 and L5 disc to a 10 mm bulge pinching 2 nerves affecting his siatica, and causing other issues not to mention the spinal stenosis. He was then told if thenerves get pinched anymore, he could end up with permanent foot droop, imputancy , loss of bowels or total paralysis of the leg.

Being the most determined man I know he remained positive and worked his leg everyday on a stationary bicyle in order to get back to work. Being off from work from January to June, the affordably of being home was no longer an option, so he had to go work on modified duties.

After being notified that the wait list for surgery was 2 years, his medical team decided to get the surgery done in Kenora on September 26th. That's when he got the L4 L5 fusion (4 screws and 2 rods), a disc removed, and a spacer installed. With all the luck and bone graph, it should fully fuse within the next few months.

If all heals well, the medical team suspects that he will be able to return to work in the new year, but only time will tell.

With the cost of having to cover food and expenses, it has now got well beyond his means and I am calling on my friends and family to please find it in your hearts to help my brother while he is healing and is going through this difficult time.
