Kevin Beers' loss of work in fire

Below is an excerpt from a post by Kevin Beers today. The fire at the Monhegan Boatline is a devastating loss to the Barstows and many others including Kevin, whose paintings were not insured. It is a gut wrenching loss for so many and heartbreaking for all. For Kevin it was a massive creative loss as well as a financial loss. The 360 pano was truly unique. We spent some time researching it years ago and couldn't find another one painted entirely plein air. Ever. I always hoped it would end up in the Monhegan Museum as a unique tribute to his love for the island. Now it is just gone. He also lost a ton of other large and small paintings that were some of his best work. Money can't make up the loss of his creations but it can certainly help.
