Kevin Bell Repatration Fund
Donation protected
Hi guys,
If you have came this far an clicked the link thanks for taking the time to have a look.
First point to make, this gofundme is 100% charity driven. Breiffini & I will be funding our expedition entirely off our own steam and every donation we
receive will go directly to our chosen charity.
So, a little bit about our expedition and what it entails. We have decided our next mountain to take on is Ama Dablam. The mountain itself stands 6812 metres tall and is situated in the Himalayas in Nepal. It is approx 15kms from the worlds tallest mountain Mt. Everest. We will be in Nepal for about a month for the climb. We firstly fly in to Kathmandu, then catch a small plane to the worlds most dangerous airport named Lukla (2860m) high up in the Himalayas, from there we will have a 6 to 7 day hike through the Himalayas to reach Ama Dablam Basecamp (4570m), from here we hope to reach the summit of Ama Dablam (6812m) over the next 10 to 12 days weather permitting. Our flights and expedition are all booked and paid for so its full steam ahead preparing and training from now until we leave on the 30th of March this year.
The charity we have decided to raise some awareness and funds for is "The Kevin Bell Repatration Fund". There aim is to alleviate the financial hardship of bereaved families by repatriating the bodies of loved ones who have died abroad under sudden or tragic
circumstances and bring them back to Ireland. The reason we have chosen this charity is both of us live
abroad in Australia and the majority of our friends do also. Its a way of life in Ireland people migrate to different countries and I dont think there would be a single family in Ireland that would not have a loved one living overseas. This is why we feel its an extremely
important fund& charity and needs all the support people can give.
Anyways, thats it for now. Hope the description hasnt been to long. If everyone could try their best to donate what ever they can spare it would greatly be appreciated. Hopefully nobody we know ever needs to
contact the "Kevin Bell Repatration fund" in a time of need but its great to know that an organization like this is there if we ever need too. Thanks guys
