Dear Family & Friends,
On April 10, 2023, Kevin breathed his last breath. After a 9-month struggle with brain cancer, dealing with mental and physical deterioration all along the way, he passed from this world to the next - effortlessly and immediately. At some point, he viewed the dark hospital room for one last time, closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, he beheld his Savior, undoubtedly hearing about how he had been a good and faithful servant. His strength back, his eyes clear, his voice unlocked, and his lungs full; I can only imagine the praise he exclaimed as he was shown to that room our Lord had been preparing for him all along. His soul is safe in the arms of Jesus, awaiting that glorious day of Christ's return, as we all do.
We remain. We're here, he's there, and there's a real void now. In some ways, we've been mourning him for nine months, but for those who have lost loved ones, you know how it is. There's relief in knowing the suffering is over, but after the loved one dies, in some ways, the trial is just beginning for those left behind. Can you imagine suffering without hope? Can you imagine grieving without the comfort of John 11:25-26, which says, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die?" Our family believes this. Kevin believed this. We, therefore, grieve because we miss our Husband, Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle, and friend, but not as those without hope. The gospel has a beautiful promise that we hang on tightly to - what the world sees as senseless and unexplainable loss, we see as a life lived according to God's sovereign plan, a race won, and a champion crowned. We will stand as children of the promise.
This GoFundMe page exists so that Jen and the family can be further supported through memorial contributions. On behalf of the family, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
