Hello Friends,

My name is Robin Landress, and my nephew is Joshua Landress, he is one of the sweetest, most tenderhearted 14 year young adults you will ever meet and his mother is Erin Szurminski Cartwright and she is one of the hardest working mothers and wife. Their family has experienced great loss and tragedy. On Monday, April 29, 2024. Kevin Cartwright, their husband, and father lost his fight with depression and mental illness and ended his life. His presence is already greatly missed by Erin and Joshua. The amount of shock and sadness in their hearts is immense as they are left to deal with the aftermath of this tragedy. Loss to suicide is often a complicated and traumatic grief process that goes on for many years. They will face some of their darkest days ahead as they learn how to live without their husband and dad. Erin lost her best friend and husband of seventeen years. Joshua lost a very special dad and one of his best friends. Kevin was a big kid at heart and loved spending time with Joshua at the beach, hanging out at their home playing video games or could be found riding bikes in the neighborhood or watching sports on their screened in porch. Kevin is a loving father and always made sure Joshua knew how special he was to him. The shock and sudden loss will have ripple effects for many years for his family and friends and especially "JJ" as well all call him. In the blink of an eye, Erin and JJ's world and finances have been turned upside down due to a tragedy. Erin is faced with the burden of paying for the unexpected funeral expenses as Kevin did not have life insurance to help ease this expense. Erin has the immediate burden of all the monthly bills to maintain as she tries to help herself and Joshua learn to heal and process their grief and loss while not being able to take much time off work as the only parent in the home with an income. She could really use the support of family and friends. The funds will go toward Kevins funeral and memorial cost and any unplanned expenses during this time. Anyone that knows Erin understands how independent she is and has always worked so hard to provide for Joshua and would be the first to give and support someone else in a time of loss. I would like to ask if you feel lead to make a donation to help ease some of the financial burden that has fallen on her family so unexpectedly .
