Kevin Classen Spinal Fusion

As many of you may know, Dad has been fighting back pain for the last 4 years. Four months of driving to Lake Charles 3 days a week for chiropractic work, did not solve the problem. Dad's pain only worsened, dragging him down mentally and physically.

 

After hearing of Dr. Max Greig through acquaintances who had good luck with numerous surgeries, Dad decided to proceed with that option. On Tuesday, June 7, Dad & Mom flew to Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.

 

After the X-RAY and MRI, they met Dr. Max on Thursday, June 9, for consultation. Unfortunately, Dad's back was much worse than he had expected. Scoliosis, degenerated discs, bone spurs, and shifted discs had taken control of his back. Two different surgeries were an option to help resolve the problem. #1 Smaller surgery with less recovery time but no guarantee of not having more problems down the road. #2 Spinal fusion joining 4 vertebrae, removing all bone spurs, and much more guarantee of success down the road. With lots of thought and prayer, the family decided to proceed with #2. Unfortunately, this came with less mobility, a minimum of a 3-month recovery, and more expensive surgery.

 

The Dr. gave strict instructions to not drive a truck for at least 3 months while recovering. With his source of income diminished indefinitely, there is a concern about how the hospital bill and living expenses while in Mexico will be handled.
