Kevin & Dayae Need Our Help - Medical Emergency

Dear Family & Friends, (news & reward links added to bottom):

On April.7th 2023 at 5:43PM PST in the 4700 block of Greene Street, San Diego a motor vehicle hit-and-run occurred leaving our two loved ones severely injured.

Kevin & Dayae were pedestrians at the time standing outside of their parked car in front of their accommodation; they were removing belongings to begin their holiday when disaster struck. This tragic incident has sent both of them to UC San Diego Healthcare where they are currently receiving treatment.

Kevin sustained a traumatic brain injury which required surgery to decompress his brain during the early hours of April 8th. Dayae has undergone the first surgery to treat damaged and missing muscle, fat, and skin in her leg, along with broken tibia & fibula (leg bones). She is to receive additional surgery on April 9th to address the cleaning of her tissue. She will further receive skin graft surgery to create a new skin surface.

Kevin is currently in the Brain Trauma unit of the facility within the ICU and under close supervision. The Surgeon's feedback is that they were pleased with the surgery results and have inserted pressure monitors and drains to stay in for the next few days.

Family & Friends - this is where your help is needed. As Canadian citizens on international travel, our support will be critical in easing the strain of expenses that will be required to ensure the best care and recovery mechanisms are utilized.
