Kevin Flanagan Medical Costs
Donation protected
Kevin Flanagan is a sixth-generation family farmer, a proud father of four great adults, and loving husband to his wife Karen. A pillar of the Van Buren, Ohio, community in which he lives and works, Kevin has served as a township trustee for more than 17 years, providing guidance and directing maintenance throughout the local area. A proud Catholic and active member of St. Michael's Church, Kevin sings in the folk group and participates in several other community groups through the parish.
Among other memberships, Kevin’s community involvement is or has included : North Baltimore Grain Condo Association board member, Agricultural Credit Board member, Hancock County Republican central committee, Ohio Soybean Council, Hancock County Farm Bureau board member, and DAC. Kevin truly cares about making a difference in his corner of the world.
On December 5th, 2019, Kevin was involved in a severe car accident and was life-flighted to St. Vincent hospital in Toledo due to the severity of his injuries. Kevin was fortunate to survive the accident, but sustained a traumatic brain injury, which will mean a long and uncertain road to recovery. Part of Kevin’s recovery will require specialized cognitive rehabilitation to attempt to heal his TBI and aide him in regaining his independence. We’re unsure when or if this will help him return to life as it once was but are optimistic about the specialized programs offered in the area. Despite the recommendation of his medical professionals, Kevin’s insurance company has refused to cover his rehab, forcing the family to cover the enormous medical expense out of pocket. Our target is $14,000, which is the base cost of the treatment facility, but anything over that will help cover additional costs. After his treatment, if there is any funding left, we will donate it to local nonprofit organizations.
Kevin has consistently been a positive light in so many people’s lives and he has always done what he can to help others. We have received an overwhelming outpouring of support from people who know and love him. Anything you can donate to help the Flanagan family through this difficult time will help ease their burden and get Kevin back to a normal life as quickly as possible. Additionally, we appreciate your efforts to spread Kevin’s story through Facebook and other social media platforms. Kevin means the world to us, and so does your assistance.
With love and appreciation,
