Kevin Hill's battle has a name - Glioblastoma
Donation protected
My name is Doris Olafsen, and I am humbled to be able to share the following story about an amazing man—Kevin Hill.
Kevin is fighting for his life in Kelowna hospital, where he has just undergone surgery to remove a rapidly growing tumor in his brain. This tumor is confirmed as cancerous, and the path ahead is uncertain. Kevin's journey has been nothing short of harrowing. Since July, he has faced a series of baffling symptoms—dizziness, speech difficulties, partial vision loss—that culminated in a diagnosis of a brain bleed from a previously undiagnosed stroke. In the weeks that followed, he endured emergency visits and increasingly debilitating symptoms. Most recently, Kevin was hospitalized with severe complications, where tests revealed the tumor.
Now that Kevin is recovering from the surgery, consultations with the neurosurgeon and then referrals to the oncology team will be happening. We look forward to his return to Penticton as soon as possible.
Kevin is a devoted husband to his wife, Irene, and a loving father to their five beautiful children, including two cherished kids, Elsa and Ethan, who joined their family in 2017 after the passing of a dear friend, Regine Siemons.
His faith and trust in Jesus Christ have been his anchor during this tumultuous time, but he needs our support now more than ever.
Why Your Help Matters
As Kevin has been bravely facing this battle, it has meant that he has not been able to work since the summer. The Hill family is confronted with overwhelming financial burdens. This recent turn of events has left the family struggling to cover mortgage payments and monthly expenses. On top of that, they are living in the middle of home renovations—another painful symbol of Kevin’s hard work and dreams interrupted. And a very painful reminder of the challenges they face.
Kevin’s greatest wish is to be there for Elsa and Ethan, to guide them through life’s joys and challenges. He has always been a source of laughter and connection in his community, known for his quick wit and deep love for his children.
Now, Kevin and his family need us to rally around him and his family. We are asking for your generosity to help cover their immediate living expenses and if you can also assist with completing their home renovations that would be over the top and an expression of extravagant generosity.
