Kevin Kerswell's Passing
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Ronna and I am starting this Go Fund Me in memory of Kevin Kerswell to raise funds to help his dear wife Freya as she deals with her sudden and devastating loss. Kevin passed away unexpectedly in his home early in the morning on Tuesday, November 7. Freya faces many challenging decisions and immediate expenses in the days and weeks ahead and her friends would like to ease her mind and provide a more secure financial footing for her to cope. Funds raised in excess of her needs will be donated by her to Scarborough Baptist Church.
Kevin was a wonderful, caring, funny, generous individual. He dedicated his professional life to the lives of his students at the Toronto District School Board as an occasional teacher. When not at work he could often be found at his church, Scarborough Baptist Church, fulfilling his roles as deacon, Bible School teacher, Youth Leader, Knitting Ministry leader, and taking care of facilities in various ways including a light switch that was installed backwards (but still works well).
Kevin was very fond of the outdoors and completed his degree in Outdoor Recreation at Lakehead University. He spent every summer for 30 years as a camp counsellor for children and adults with special needs. He loved to bicycle in any types of weather (even snow storms) and rode 1000 km from Toronto to Tobermory for which he was documented in the Lakehead student newspaper as the Wayward Cyclist. He played the banjo and loved bluegrass music. In his university days he was part of a band called Gut Bucket.
But most of all, he was a dedicated and loving husband to his lovely wife Freya. They shared 14 precious years together, 10 years as a married couple. He was always fun and made Freya laugh, turning negative moments into positive ones. He was also a great house husband although he had a full-time job, helping out with the chores a lot and making life easier for Freya. They loved, laughed and love to read the Bible and pray together. He helped water the seeds of her faith in the Lord Jesus. He will be dearly missed, not only by Freya but all by the many friends and family whose lives he touched.
In loving memory of our dear Kevin, may you rest in peace.
