USMC veteran, father of 3, K. Lloyd’s cancer fund

Kevin Lloyd is a wonderful man. He is a father of 3 boys, husband, brother, son, uncle, and Marine. He served 8 years, with 2 deployments to Afghanistan and 1 to Iraq, before being medically separated (disabled due to cervical disc herniation) and honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 2015. From that time Kevin has gone back to school (where he started a successful veterans program within the student body) and has gotten his AA in criminal justice and has been working within schools to help at-risk youth teens. The past 2-3 years Kevin’s health has declined, but he still worked hard (up to 3 jobs at once) to provide for his family, without any complaints or inclinations of how his health was affecting him. In May 2022, Kevin’s wife had a major decline in her health and she had lost the ability to bring in an income. With planning, and support from family, the Lloyds were still able to push forward and take care of their responsibilities. During this hard time for the family, Kevin pushed himself to limits unimaginable, enduring pain and hardships that became impossible to hide, causing concern and worry about his health. After extensive testing, procedures and imaging we were hit with the news that Kevin has cancer and is bleeding internally due to the tumors size and location. We have a team with Memorial Hermann who are being extremely supportive and helping mentor us during this time. The diagnosis is still new to us (3/31/2023) and we’re not sure what to expect. Monday (4/3/2023), Kevin will be meeting up with his assigned surgeon to get more imaging done in hopes that the cancer has not metastasized. Our family is open for advice, well wishes, prayers, and positive interactions in hopes that alongside modern medicine, Kevin will have the support he needs to fight and beat this battle with cancer.
