Help Kevin Little From Heart Surgery

Hi, I am Zachary Spalding, Kevin Little's son-in-law, and I am starting this fundraiser to help him and Karen through a difficult time right now. This past week, Kevin was diagnosed with blockages to three of the four arteries in his heart; he is currently at Westchester Medical Center, where he is having coronary artery bypass surgery to correct those blockages. Once the surgery is done, he is looking at at least another two to three months of downtime for recovery.

I have known Kevin for almost twenty years and have always known him to be kind, friendly, and helpful. To prove that point, when I first saw him in the hospital, he said, you know, he was OK with this happening at the start of 2024 because the year can only get better; a very glass-is-half-full approach. Kevin has always given himself to those in need and supported his community. He has been a loving husband to Karen for over 42 years, a loving father to Michele and Kevin Michael, and a very loving GranGran to his grandsons Ryan and Liam.

Outside of work and family, Kevin has been part of BSA Troop 17 since 2002 and has served in the position of Scoutmaster for many, many years. In scouting, Kevin has mentored and guided many young scouts through their youth and teen years and supported them on the path to the rank of Eagle Scout. At the same time, Kevin volunteered at his local fire department and went through the training to get certified as an interior firefighter and EMT; while most people in those firefighter classes were in their early twenties, Kevin was doing this at twice the age that most people in the class were. He then served Fairview for over 15 years as a volunteer firefight and rose to the rank of Lt. A few years ago, he was made a life member of the department.

Since 2021, Kevin has been working in the facilities department at the Woodstock Day School, and he has found great joy in being part of that community. Each time I talk to him, he lights up with great stories of the kids and staff he interacts with at the school and how he enjoys being there and serving that community.

While Kevin is out for his procedures and future recovery, I hope you will consider donating to him and Karen to help fund trips to the hospital, the monthly bills, and help with future medical bills that will likely come after his procedure. I have always found Kevin willing to give to others without expecting anything in return, but right now, Kevin will need everyone to help him and Karen get through crises.

Remember that no donation is too small; if we are fortunate enough for this fundraiser to be seen by 2,000 people and if each of them gave $20, that would achieve this goal and help Kevin through his surgery and recovery.
