Kevin Minden Medical Rehabilitation Fund

Friends, family and anyone who has ever met Kevin knows that his first and only love is horses. Since age 4, Kevin has been caring for and training horses, and so many of us have been able to achieve our horsemanship goals and dreams because of Kevin’s care, mentorship and the immeasurable hours Kevin has dedicated to his craft.

On Thanksgiving Day, 2022, Kevin was training a problem horse for a customer and was thrown and crushed beneath the horse as it reared on top of him - Kevin’s life changed that very instant, and now he needs our help. The industry insurance that Kevin carries to protect himself as a freelance trainer only covers the bare minimum of Kevin’s extensive emergency and surgical costs, and does not cover any rehabilitation or the months or years of ongoing physical therapy that he now requires to be able to return to his only passion in life: training horses.

Our big ask for you today is that if you, your equine loved ones, your family, your business or your friends have been touched by Kevin’s generous spirit, please consider making a donation to Kevin’s rehabilitation costs now. Kevin needs us, and we as a family of equestrians and our Northern Virginia community have an opportunity to keep this young man’s hands on our horses and in our community for decades to come.

Our budget of $50,000 will cover an entire 12 months of physical therapy as well as the entire balance of Kevin’s in-patient rehabilitation costs and the board for his beloved quarter horse, Hank. His surgeons have recommended a very specific regimen of therapy and Kevin is happy to discuss it with you in detail. Any amount of support you can provide would go a long way to helping Kevin rebuild his body and his life.
