Kevin Minor Legacy Scholarship
Donation protected
In honor of Kevin Minor, dedicated husband, ultimate girl dad, and tennis parent, we are starting a scholarship fund in his name. The funds will go toward supporting the training and travel for a Chicago-based junior tennis player (who has not yet started high school) and their family.
On average, the cost of a child from ages 8 to 18 who will go on to play college tennis is $300,000. Kevin knew all too well the sacrifices necessary to raise elite student-athletes, especially in the early stages. Easing the financial burden for other families is something he would love. He believed it's part of our community responsibility to bless others as we have been blessed.
Our hope is that this Legacy Fund continues to grow...perhaps into a long-term endowment, and maybe even an annual girl's tennis tournament & benefit to raise additional funds. We're excited to see just how wide the ripple effects of our dad's life can reach!
More about our dad:
Kevin was a pinnacle in the Chicago tennis community, raising three black women who became NCAA Division I tennis players. In addition, he spent his life advocating for children in the sport of tennis. On May 17, 2022, Kevin passed away suddenly from a heart attack. He leaves behind three daughters, Kristina, Jasmine and Brienne, and his wife, Michelle.
We thank you for your support and your willingness to keep his Legacy alive.
With love,
Michelle, Kristina, Jasmine, & Brienne Minor
