On Tuesday September 1st, our youngest son Kevin Newton(38) was involved in a single car accident. He was taken to Radford hospital and then transported to Roanoke Memorial Trauma Center.

His injuries include:
• broken left collarbone in two places causing it to shift (plate and screws placed)
• dislocated right elbow & nerve damage (6hour surgery Sunday Sept. 6th)
• collapsed lung & punctured lung (tubes were taken out Thursday Sept. 10th)
• all back left and four front right ribs have been broken
• multiple compound fractures L1 and down
• fitted for back brace to protect and stabilize

Once Kevin is released from the hospital he will be spending several weeks in extensive rehabilitation. Upon progression physical therapy will be at the least three times per week when he is finally home.

HE DOES NOT HAVE ANY MEDICAL INSURANCE - HE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO WORK DUE TO THE LONG RECOVERY.

Walking into a room full of people Kevin’s voice would be the first one you hear and the first smile you would see. He has a heart full of gold and don’t get me started on those bear hugs. He is very energetic, loving, hardworking, and one of the best fathers to his beautiful 4 year old daughter. Kevin’s daughter is the light of his life and everything he does is for her. We have an extremely close large family and want nothing but the best for Kevin and his daughter.
