Kevin Powers
On July 4th, Kevin was in a auto mobile accident that resulted in breaking his C3 and C4 in his neck as well as a spinal cord injury due to a bulging disc. Kevin was air cared to UC hospital where he underwent surgery and received 2 plates and 4 screws which released some pressure off his spinal cord. Kevin spent 3 days in ICU after his surgery, once stable he was moved to the orthopedic floor. Kevin is currently paralyzed from his chest down, he can move his arms but there is no hand or finger control. We were told he has what is
called a Incomplete Spinal Cord Injury, only
time and rehabilitation will tell us if he will be able to use his lower body.
Kevin is currently at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital of Norwood, where he is getting physical and occupational therapy. Once released he will continue outpatient therapy.
This page is being set up to finance the tools and therapy he will need when released to come home . Anything donated would be greatly appreciated and please keep Kevin in your prayers. Thank you for all your thoughts, prayers, and support we have received.
