Help Kevin get his long stride back

Hello my name is Kevin Oliver,  I have been married to the love of my life Julie Oliver for 20 years this year. We have 3 beautiful children. Elijah 18, Isaiah 16 and Ella 13.

This is my GoFundMe story. 

 I am the Youth Director for The Well Community Fellowship in Modesto CA.  I run the Jr High and High School youtrh group every Wednesday a year and Sunday Mornings. I have coached Baseball at Downey High School for the last 2 years, having to take this year off due to my medical issues. 


For over 3 years we have been battling to find out the what was going on inside of my body.  On Dec 27th 2016 my Nueroligist told me they found a tumor in my spine. It was a  relief yet, drew up fears at the same time!  It was a reality that my life would literally change forever. As I called my wife it was a call that I figured I would make someday but never realized just how tough that would be. 

The past 3 years my body has steadily decreased from numbness and loss of feeling, muscle loss, to easy fatigue.  I am a very healthy man, I am very active, eat pretty good, so it was tough going through these symptoms. Then the prostate infections and bladder issues. I was fearing I would be dealing with these symptoms for the rest of my life. 

As the DRs tried to find out what was happening inside I began to feel crazy. It was hard to continually try and fail at getting answers. 

So to actually get an answer gave me hope. So as surgery approached I felt really good about the future. Knowing there would be recovery involved I did not really plan on the full length of time it will take to get to 100%, which Dr McDermott believes we will achieve! 

With this first week update video it will begin the vlog series and help all of us run this..... well as of now baby step, this race together! 

I am being sent to Alta Bates Rehab Facility in Oakland.  I will be recieveing 3 hours of rigourous Physical Training with Occupational Therapy mixed in. It looks like 8-14 days there before going home for some in care therapy. 

We are asking for funds to help with any unseen medical needs, extra trips to SF,  food, medical aides, and those scary bills that can follow any procedure or Drs visit.

These funds will be only used to aide in  support comming from my surgery and follow up recovery. 

Any funds that come in that we do not use will be donated to Remedy Youth.  They will be used to aide in camps, fundraisers and training our future leaders! 

We definitelty need your prayers!  Comments, posts and messages are really appreciated as well. It continues to amaze me with all the support we are recieving.

Our goal with this is to not have you detract from any giving you do to your local church or non profit.
