Kevin’s Cat Colony Care
Kevin McKinley is the kind of man I have always wanted to be, kind, funny, and generous. I’ve worked with him for 25 years and have looked forward to every one of those days. He is a truly unsung hero, absent from social media, under the radar in pretty much everything he does, and that’s just the way he likes it. Sorry Kev, it’s time a little credit where credit’s due!
There’s a chance if you shop at Fred Meyer, you’ve seen him filling up water jugs, or walking out with cases of cat food, as this is a nearly daily occurrence. Kevin, completely on his own, feeds, shelters, traps and fixes feral cats around the valley. He does this year round, rain or shine, dark winter nights after a day of retail work, hot and muggy summer evenings when some of us are having a cocktail by a pool, Kevin is out there, putting up shade, a warm box, whatever it takes to catch, care and sometimes even bury some of the less fortunate felines he watches over and always on his own time and dime.
Here’s how you can help:
- Throw something in this tip jar
- Drop off a case of Friskies at American Shoe Shop and ask Kevin about his cats
- STOP dumping your unwanted pets
- PLEASE spay/neuter your cats
